Live broadcast on July 30, O ‘Neal’s son Charif O ‘Neal was diagnosed with coronary artery abnormalities and underwent heart surgery in 2018. Recently, he participated in a podcast about his experience of recovering from surgery and returning to the stadium.

He said: “At that time, my father told me, ‘no one has the right to say, you can’t do something. It sounds simple, but it gave me great confidence at that time. I believe I can do what I want to do. You know, this mentality supports me to go to the present.”

“I want to be a professional player. I want to try it. I think, as an adult, you must experience trial and error. If not, you can try something else.”

“My parents have never expressed their concern and fear for me to continue playing, because they know that if they do this, I will also feel scared.”

Sharif O’Neal is currently playing for the Lakers Development League affiliate team.
